Hyrox gear for training and race day
Hyrox supplies the sled, the wall balls and the ski erg. What you bring is what you wear and what you carry. This collection is the Reyllen kit built for that job: lightweight shorts and joggers that hold up across 8km of running and eight stations, plus the bags and accessories that get your gear to the venue and keep it organised once you are there.
Everything here is designed in-house in the UK and chosen for function rather than a race-day logo. Reyllen is a training brand first, so this is the kit our athletes already train in every week, not a one-weekend capsule.
What to pack for a Hyrox race
Race day is a long day. You arrive early, you queue, you warm up, you race for roughly 60 to 90 minutes, then you leave soaked. The list is short, but each item earns its place:
- A bag that holds the whole day. Trainers, spare layers, food, a towel and a full change of clothes. 35 litres is the realistic minimum if you are travelling to the venue.
- What you race in. Lightweight shorts with secure pockets, so nothing bounces or falls out across the running legs.
- A warm-up layer. Joggers you can strip off at the start pen and pull straight back on afterwards.
- Sweat management. Wrist bands keep sweat off your palms before the sled pull, the farmers carry and the burpee broad jumps, where a slick grip costs you time.
- A small bag for essentials. Phone, keys, gels and your race band, carried to the start without dragging the whole rucksack with you.
What to train and race in
Echo Short — lightweight shorts for Hyrox and running
The Echo Short is the one to race in. Built from premium Nexa™ fabric, it is ultra-light, low-bulk and unrestricted through the compromised running that comes after a sled push. Secure zip pockets hold gels and a phone without bounce.
Best for: race day, running legs, conditioning, warm-weather training.
Choose Echo if: you want the lightest, fastest short in the range.
Echo Jogger — warm-up, travel and recovery
Lightweight training joggers with stretch, temperature regulation and secure storage. Light enough to warm up in and to train in year-round, not just a layer you carry.
Best for: pre-race warm-up, travel to and from the venue, cooler training sessions.
The full men's range, including the harder-wearing Duratech™ Element Short, sits in men's training shorts.
Bags for race day
Venture Backpack 35L — the race-day kit bag
Our largest pack and the one built for competition days. A 35-litre main compartment takes shoes, spare layers, food and a change of clothes, with a lifting-belt holder and organised storage so you are not emptying the bag onto the floor to find a sock.
Best for: travelling to a race, full-day events, athletes who carry everything.
Pro Backpack 28L — train, work, repeat
28 litres with clamshell access and a laptop compartment. The everyday pack for the twelve weeks of training before the race rather than the race itself.
Best for: daily gym-to-office carry, shorter travel.
Sling Bag — essentials only
Waterproof mini sling with a full clamshell opening and removable strap. Phone, keys, gels and race documents, carried to the start pen without the rucksack.
More options in bags and packs.
Accessories
X3 Sweat Bands
Cotton wrist bands with light compression. Sweat on your hands is a real time cost on the sled pull, the farmers carry and the wall balls. These keep your palms dry and sit comfortably under grips if you train gymnastics alongside your Hyrox block.
Hyrox kit questions
What should I wear for a Hyrox race?
Lightweight shorts with secure pockets and a fitted top. Avoid anything loose enough to catch on the sled or the sandbag, and avoid heavy fabric that holds sweat. Most athletes race in a short and a tee, and warm up in joggers they remove at the start.
Do I need special Hyrox shorts?
You need shorts that run well and survive a sandbag on your shoulders. That means light fabric, a waistband that stays put, and zip pockets rather than open ones. Standard running shorts often fail on the strength stations; standard gym shorts are usually too heavy for 8km.
What size bag do I need for Hyrox?
Around 35 litres if you are travelling to the venue with shoes, spare kit and food. 28 litres is enough for local races and for the training block itself.
Do you sell Hyrox equipment like sleds and wall balls?
No. The venue supplies all competition equipment. We make what you wear and what you carry.
